About our covers
The future is an interesting concept to
illustrate for a magazine cover. How
best to represent change, and things
yet to occur?
Our striking cover image, of Elder Hall
and surrounds as perceived through a
“crystal ball”, was taken during the
jacaranda flowering season last summer
with this issue in mind. The crystal ball
used is in fact a specialist photographic
lens which was perched in a branch of
one of the trees.
LUMEN
Our inside covers display an artwork,
entitled Kaurna Day, created by
Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna artist Brooke
Rigney-Lively during Kaurna Day 2024,
which represents the events of that
gathering, close to the river and the
Kaurna Learning Circle. It was used to
promote Kaurna Day this year.
And our rear cover welcomes us all to the
future – the new Adelaide University!
